Our proposal connects the student or researcher, those who stay in Istanbul for an extended visit and are curious to explore its fabric, to the local communities. In order to overcome the intimidating language and cultural barriers, the spaces are designed with programs that are inherently universal – sport, dance, food. This is imagined as a network of interventions throughout Istanbul; here, two specific sites – the Lot and the Atrium, are designed.
